At Acorns Nursery, learning is rooted in play, relationships, and meaningful experiences. We create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore, with each day shaped around their individual needs, interests, and stages of development.
The Core Belief
Our approach combines child-led exploration with carefully planned opportunities that build confidence, independence, and curiosity. Children learn through hands-on experiences, whether investigating sensory materials, engaging in imaginative role play, exploring the outdoor environment, or developing physical skills through movement and play. Everyday moments, such as mealtimes and group activities, are also valued as rich opportunities for communication, social development, and growing independence.
Enriching Experiences
We believe learning should be engaging, creative, and joyful. This is enhanced through a range of enriching experiences that bring learning to life. Children enjoy storytelling sessions filled with music and imagination, calming yoga to support wellbeing, and sensory experiences where stories are explored through props and play. Visits from animal experts help children learn about care and respect for living things, while weekly language sessions introduce older children to new cultures in a fun and accessible way.
Our Approach to Learning
Learning extends beyond the nursery too. Children explore their local community through outings and visits, helping them make connections with the world around them. We also value intergenerational experiences and opportunities to build empathy and understanding. Families play an important role in our approach, and we actively invite them to share in their child’s learning journey.
